Wondering if my homemade ping.fm OS X dashboard widget still works?

Why does Microsoft take so long to "examine volumes" during their install/update. No one else sucks this bad.

Confirming contacts on Plaxo is a bad UX. Click one at a time & wait. I would rather multi-select & then submit. (10 min. vs 10 sec.)
