A soccer team comprises of 11 players; one goalkeeper, two-four defenders, three-five midfielders, and one-three forwards. In a soccer match, there are three referees; the main referee who enforces the rules of the game from inside the field and two assistant referees or the linesmen who operate from the lines. The number of players in a position depends with the coach.
In a basketball, players score by passing a ball through a hoop or ring from above. No point is awarded if a ball does not pass through the hoop from above. Points are awarded depending on the origin of the shot. Scores from shots that originate behind the arc (long-distance shots) are worth three points while scores made from shots originating from within the arc are worth two points. Only one point is awarded for scores made from free throws that originate from a line 15 feet from the basket. Further to this, a basketball match comprises many short sessions with short breaks in between. On the other hand, a soccer field is larger than a basketball field.
