A Person Is A Person No Matter How Small

972 words - 4 pages

Should abortion be a women's choice and is it constitution to allow someone to take another's life? Murder is illegal and it is absurd that the rules are bent for women who do not want to take responsibility for their actions; being that there are many ways to prevent pregnancy in the first place abortion should be illegal. A majority people who are prochoice don’t believe that abortion is murder because the child has not developed all there body parts and they simply call it a fetus or a group of cells. “Estimates put the number of adopted persons in the U.S. somewhere between 6 and 10 million.”( http://adopting.adoption.com/adopt/how-many-people-choose-adoption.html). Millions of couples each year want to have children but physically cannot because their reproductive organs do not function properly. Surveys show that these are the type couples who adopt each year. Giving your child up for adoption can offer them many more opportunities than not giving them a choice of life at all. Think of how the couples who want a child more than anything feel when these women have a child conceived but instead of being grateful for such a beautiful blessing they get rid of their “problem.”
Poverty, rape, disability, or “unwantedness” do not morally justify abortion. There are all sorts of circumstances that people point to as justification for their support of abortion. A large amount of prochoice supporters argue that abortion is needed when a mother’s life is in danger or when someone is a victim of rape, when in all truth both of these account for less than 2% of all abortions. In reality a majority of decisions about abortions, come down to the babies’ life versus the mother’s lifestyle in which all abortions end with the mother choosing her lifestyle.
Now let’s tackle the debate pertaining to when a human life is actually a life. It is preposterous to claim that no one knows when life begins and dishonest to argue that abortion does not kill a human being. Every new life begins at conception. This is an irrefutable fact of biology...
