people in Ireland from being a burden to their parents or country, and for making them
benefitial to the public, the subject of the story is a way to stop poverty and keeps kids
from being burdens from their parents and the country, Swift's purpose is to help his
country, his purpose is to advance the country trade, provide for infants, relieve the poor,
and give some pleasure to the rich. he adopts a serious tone in order to convince the
people of 1729 to eat babies.
The issue is that there are too many infants in the country and they are useless

country of Ireland. He is not likable because most people will not agree with his purpose
and in turn will not like him. Swifts tone towards his material, is calm and sugestive.
Swift style and approach is out of the box his way of thinking is more sarcastic and
unnatural or out of the box. The logic in the story is how the system of eating babies will
work he. hi logic is explaining how the babies will ne served, when they are ready to be
eaten. And that will happen to other children or poor parents who are too old to be eaten.
Some claims being made in support of this thesis is those " i have been assured by a very
known American, of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed
is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, wheather stewed,
roasted, baked , boiled...." "and supposing that one thousand families in this city would
be constant customers for infants flesh. Besides others who might have it a merry
meeting, particularly at weddings, and christenings, I compute that Dublin would take off
anually about twenty thousand carcasses, and the rest of the kingdom (were probably sold
