Most of the major issues regarding abortion was determining its legality. One which has proven to be a difficult debate, due to many different views and opinions of others. Arguments within pro-choice and pro-life focuses its views through many major points, such as legal precedence between human rights, and when life begins. In efforts to protect women, abortions were made illegal in mid-1800. The decision was made based on the harmful effects that was caused by such a procedure. For example, one abortion resulted in the death of the mother and her unborn. However, this law was overturned during the 1973’s Supreme Court Case of Roe v. Wade. For instance, the governor of Florida is trying to pass a law, that even if a woman was raped in the situation that she still would not be able to get an abortion (Akin amendment).
