There is a risk of the increase in aging rate as usually older cells are used in producing human clone, which can establish an age on the growing embryo (Pros and Cons of Animal Cloning, 2014). Premature aging issues and even premature death is the result of these cloning process (Pros and Cons of Animal Cloning, 2014).

Cloning obviously has its advantages in current society from farming benefits to medical benefits. There are different techniques used to clone and different types of cloning. Gene cloning, reproductive cloning, and therapeutic cloning are the different types of cloning available (Bailey, n.d.a). Techniques used in cloning are somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), the Roslin technique, and the Honolulu technique. (Bailey, n.d.b) However the techniques used so far in cloning have their limitations.
SCNT, which is also known, as therapeutic cloning is a procedure where by no sperm fertilization is required and no implantation into the uterus is done (Murnaghan, 2014). This technique is usually used in patients whom need a stem cell transplant to treat diseases or health condition (Murnaghan, 2014). However this technique need to create a usable egg that is stable. Unfortunately according to Murnaghan (2014), the stability of the egg with the introduced somatic nucleus is low and need hundreds of attempts before success is achieved.
The Roslin technique is an alternative technique of SCNT developed by researchers at the Roslin Institute. Dolly was created using this method. Dolly was successfully cloned but unfortunately died at a young age. The cell was taken from a six year old Finn Dorset sheep; an adult sheep, which was actually one of the main concerns of what caused Dolly to die young. The telomeres shortening was said to be one of the few reasons why Dolly died (The cloning technique used to clone Dolly, n.d.). Scientist thinks that the cells will stop replicating when the telomeres reach a certain minimum length (The...
