Marketing Process From Begining To End: Decision To Market Marketing Communication

IntroductionAt any successful company, marketing seeks to connect with customers, serve their needs, and accomplish the stated mission of the organization. A successful marketing process creates value through consumer satisfaction from brand building before the sale to post sales service and support (Armstrong & Kotler, 2007). In the following paragraphs we will discuss a marketing strategy and mix for a proposed product.The ProductWe are designing a medication box with a timer to set so an alarm will go off when it is time to take your pills. It will be made of durable plastic, have a loud alarm, and the compartments will light up so you know what pills to take when the alarm goes off. There will be three compartments for each day, and it will be a seven day box, so there will be twenty-one compartments in all. The alarm can be preset for the whole week, and able to go off three times a day. You can place this box anywhere in your home that will be convenient for the user. We believe our product will have a competitive advantage in the market because of our unique design, and our product satisfaction guarantee.Target MarketIn the decision to design this box, first we had to find a target market and find out what their needs were for this kind of product. First we divided the market into segments of customers. Then we had to decide which customers our product would service best, this was our target market (Armstrong & Kotler, 2007). We found a need for the type of product we were trying to distribute among the elderly who take medications on a regular basis. When elderly people forget to take their medicine, their health will deteriorate. This often leads to the need for them to move in with family members, hire private nurses, or end up in nursing homes, just so they have someone to monitor the medication. This can get quite expensive at times. Most of the time it is just a matter that they forget to take them, or lose track of time. It is a fact of life, that as we get older we get forgetful. This is why we designed our pill box with the features it has. We feel that our box will give these elderly people back a sense of independence, giving them more confidence in themselves at a time when they start to lose it, simply because they will not have someone hovering over them to tell them when to take their pills. Because we understand that a majority of elderly have some form of hearing loss, we have equipped the medication box with a loud alarm. We have also provided a small red light built into the lid of each compartment so their will be no mistake in which pills it is time to take, this will also assist the severely hearing impaired by indicating it is time by sight, although they would have to be in the room to see it.The design of the box, our excellent customer service, and our money back guarantee if not completely satisfied is how we will differentiate and position ourselves in the market place.
