All human beings are called to submit to the will of Allah.
With reference to the statement, evaluate the contribution on Islam of ONE significant person OR school of thought, other than Muhammad and the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs.
A’isha Bint Abu-Bakar was the youngest of the Prophet Muhammad’s wives, and was significant in the development of Islam through her direct connect with Muhammad. She spent 9 years with Muhammad and had many opportunities to observe his actions and learn his teachings. She memorised the revelation that were sent down to him. After his death, she was responsible for transmitting in written and oral form the most significant aspects of his life. She was recognized as an authority on Islamic traditions and was an educator, social reformer and a strong leader.
Aisha is recorded as a great teacher, she was intelligent, with an excellent memory and oral skills. These factors explain the influence A’isha had over the Islamic community from its foundation to the present. She was knowledgeable of the Qur’an and submitted herself to preach the teachings of her husband throughout her journeys.
