The punishment for puppy mills can be severe as $60,000 fine and two years in prison. This rarely happens though some don't even serve a day in prison. Many the puppy mill owners just get away with paying the fine and returning back to work. There are other ways to put an end to puppy mills by making your pet store puppy friendly. Millions of pets are lost, abandoned, or unwanted and because of that they are sent to animal shelters. Some pets are lucky enough to find homes.Puppy mills are awful and need to be stopped. Dogs and puppies are put through torture. Dogs are breed twice a year and puppies are ripped away from their mothers at too early of ages.
