the Puritan times in the early 17th century. She was born and raised by the Dudley family
in Northampton, England. When she was sixteen years old, she married Simon Bradstreet
that he had been taken care of Dudley family since his father passed away. She was an
adult when she and her family came to the America. Her family journeyed to America for
the purpose of establishing a Puritan colony. She and her family had a difficult journey.
During her timeline, she made about sixteen poems based of mostly her life experience
and her family. After their raised own family, she has about eight of her love children. As
life goes on, Anne Bradstreet had passed away at age of sixty in 1672 in Massachusetts.
Another author studied this year is Ralph Waldo Emerson. Ralph Waldo Emerson
lived during the 19th century and is considered a Romantic. His writing mainly dealt with
his ideals and feelings. He was raised by a Unitarian minister who was a distant family
member. In 1832 when his wife, Ellen Tucker, passed away as a result of tuberculosis,
Emerson decided to step down as a minister of the Church. Three years later, he married
Lydia Jackson. Emerson was outspoken against slavery. Five years later, he and others
published their first magazine, The Dial. As he’s got older, his life became off balance of
his poor health. But he continue to travel to speak about why slavery was not good for the
United States and society.
Emerson’s and Bradstreet’s life experience impacted their writing in different
