Don’t you hate waking up early for school in the morning? Most high school students wake up before the sun rises just to get ready for school. Most teenage brains do not begin to function that early because many are still tired from staying up late the night before. The National Sleep Foundation reported that most teens do not get enough sleep, one study found that only 15% reported sleeping 8 1/2 hours on school nights. Part of the reason why this is true is because school starts so early in the morning. This was very true for me when I attended high school, I barely was able to wake up, get dressed, and be to school on time because I was so tired. On the other hand if the teens did not have to get up so early for school they could sleep a little longer and still be able to properly tend to their appearance. Also, students would have more time to do unfinished homework from the night before. Likewise students would also be able to study for an important test before school because they would have a few extra hours before class started.
Students would have an improved attitude if school started later. I say that because many students a very tired when they come to school so they have a very crabby attitude towards teacher and peers. More sleep rise students spirits and they would have a much more amiable demeanor. In addition students would no longer fall asleep during class because they have gotten more sleep. As a result they will be able to retain more information because they will be more alert. This would help students do better on tests and quizzes because they were able to pay attention in class because they were not so tired.
