The artifact I will be analyzing in this essay is my brother’s soccer ball which is considered as his most precious possession that he had. Looking at the soccer ball make me thinking about soccer games which reflect my personal identity as Malaysian as well as the morals that I tend to uphold. Through Malaysian soccer history, soccer is the most popular sport played in Malaysia. There are so many leagues organized in Malaysian that also popular among all Asian countries. Soccer may not get the spotlight here in America but through my brother’s stories about soccer, I learned that soccer is known as the world’s most popular sport. My brother’s soccer ball persuades me to think about Malaysia culture as Malaysian not only played soccer in big games but also is a game that can be enjoyed for recreational activities in the evening. Even teens and adults who do not play competitively come together to play and enjoy that particular games. Malaysian citizens gather for soccer league among country in Malaysia. People get together and united in supporting their countries team instead of being fans of individual teams. This principle that Malaysian had make me believe that soccer really had big impact on my home country, Malaysia.
