“ Well, when I think of steroids I think of an image. You have the advantage over someone, which is a form of cheating. I guess it wouldn't be right unless it was legal for everybody. Reason it's not legal for everybody is because it can hurt people seriously”. That was said by the athlete Evander Holyfield, athletes should never be allowed into the hall of fame if caught using the drug it causes many long lasting or even pertinent harmful side effects. Even though steroids can help you make huge improvements in the field of sports, any professional athlete caught using steroids should be banded from the league because it sets a bad example to the next generation of players, steroids also gives a unfair advantage over competitors or other athlete.

Our society today puts athletes on the spotlight. We look up to professional athletes kids wear their favorite players jersey to be just like them. They are setting an example if ever caught with steroids kids or people seem to think its ok and if their hero does it then they should to. But what they don’t know is the serious consequences to steroids it causes depression and aggression and increases the cancer of getting liver disease or heart dieses. For athletes’ to use steroids is just to get an advantage or an edge of every other player. If every athlete did this and took steroids then instead of taking one does they would take two just to get better then the rest. It can only lead to a never ending cycle of adding more and more doses of the drug. The most important reason to not allow the use steroids in professional sports if because there is an extremely high risk of developing osteoporosis this disease thins your bones this is just one effect of long lasting drug use. Athletes that use steroids can get damaged veins and many of the side effects are perminate. Your personality is altered while you take steroids. You are angry all the time and have long lasting of depression and even compensate suicide.

The action that should be taken if an athlete is caught using steroids is being banned from their league. The issue is too serious not to take that action. In every way shape and form it’s unfair for other players that are not using steroids. They are playing with cheaters, people that take a substance for the extra edge. Using steroids is like taking a gun to a knife fight they don’t match and one is unfair to the other.

So you can see that although steroids can help you in sports and muscle size. It is not the answer there are just too many reasons to never use the drug besides the fact that it is illegal for athletes. And those are the reason that they made them illegal in all sports. Remember that athletes don't take these drugs to level the playing field, they do it to get an advantage .So what? Is taking steroids worth ruining your body in the long run or catching dieses, disorder or changing your whole personality. You can decide that for yourself.
