The people should be aware of a lot of things in work force and autonomy is one people should be aware of as much as the rest of the problems, because it shows that people who use different ways to finish works but get yelled at which decreases motivation to the worker who tried hard and used a different way than what they were taught. Autonomy is the state of acting separately from others. ” This is what they call the results-only work environment (ROWE) for short, this method makes it easier for people to go into work when they want, work on things they want, and do this the way they want to do it. This method of work can make for a very interesting type of job that people would like to work at that allowed the person to do the job that fits them to get the job done faster and let them come in when they want.
In the video “The puzzle of motivation” by Dan Pink, he states “In a ROWE people don’t have schedules. They show up when they want. They don’t have to be in the office at a certain time, or any time. They just have to get their work done. How they do it, when they do it, where they do it is totally up to them. Meetings in these kinds of environments are optional.” This method of work is based off autonomy in the sense that you can do the work the way you want to do it, when you want, and where they want to be to do this project they want to do. This is what autonomy is in the workforce, and if more jobs were like this then people would be more motivated to do their work and finish it because you’re not getting paid by the hour you’re getting paid to do the work you want to do.
