Bide LiangENG1A7/8/2014Choosing the right education systemI was raise in China and went to school in China for ten years. I hated school because I felt like i was a robot listening to whatever the teacher said, and repeat writing the context. As a result, school has discouraged me from engaging to learning. The reason is that the teacher was so eager to want us to learn everything in a short period of time. Everything has changed after i migrated to America ,and I attended American high school. In high school, students were taught in Problem Posting Education system. This system has increased my willingness to learn more since I was able to understand the concept better. According to my high school teacher, ninety percent of Banking Concept Education and only ten percent of Problem posting Education. Statistic shows most of the country use Banking Concept Education even the the most developed country use Banking Concept Education. Why Banking Concept Education? Why not Problem posting Concept Education?Banking Concept Education is a educational system in which teachers teach student by forcing them to memorize the information. Moreover, students have to sit tight to listen well and they are required to follow teachers' instruction perfectly. In Banking Concept, there are some benefits. For example, a teacher may feel like he is the "GOD" , and student will be trained to absorb knowledge in short period time. In the other hand , this educational system also has some negative sides . For instance, students may be treated in an inhuman way in which they have no freedom to think. Furthermore, most of the students will only memorize the content but they seldom understand why something would happen in certain ways. And also, their memorization will not last for a long period of time. As we can see, banking concept is great for students to remember massive materials in short period time. However, the student can potentially lose their ability of critical thinking and communication skill in the long term.Problem posting education (PPE) is the educational system that allows students feel free to ask questions in class. Furthermore, teachers will spend more time on explaining the process of the event so that students have less chance to lose interest in lecture. However, there are disadvantages of the PPE. For example, teachers sometimes have to spend more time to prepare. Therefore, students might not have enough time to learn all the details which are in the book for one semester. In the long term of education life, i would suggest using PPE over BCE. There are three reasons. One is your communication skill will increase. Second is your social skill will be greater. Finally your content can stay in your brain longer. However, i would suggest use PPE and BCE at the same time but different proportions of them should be used according to different stage of education life.In elementary school, i was taught in Banking concept education. I remember that my...
