Behavior Change Project Essay

My Negative eating habits and recent medical troubles are what prompted me to choose a healthier diet as my behavior Change Projects. I recently went to the doctor and I was informed of my high triglyceride levels and I was put on medication. In addition, I am vitamin D and B deficient. After, visiting my doctor I knew I had to make a change in my life. In the Past year I have gained a little over ten pounds. So not only is this project helping me improve my diet, but has also given me a new incentive to lose those extra pounds.
This process has not been easy and I have struggled to stay consistent with my healthy eating habits. Keeping my cravings under control has always been a challenge and my love of bread makes things a little harder. I also recognized that I am a stress eater. I had never paid attention to my eating patterns until I begin to keep a journal. This project has definitively helped me monitor and attain a better Healthier lifestyle.
Unfortunately, I have not been 100% successful in maintaining a healthy diet, and I was unable to reach my goal of losing those extra pounds. I managed, however, to improve my triglycerides levels. I still have a long way to go before I can completely be off medication, but I am confident that with a continuous healthy diet and exercise I will meet my goal.
In spite of not reaching my desired weight my clothes definitely fit better. Even with my not so good days my diet is healthier than it's ever been. I have also continued to exercise and I've noticed changes in my body not only physically, but mentally as well, and my overall endurance and exercise condition has improved.
I believe I was unable to reach my goal because I did revert to my old ways a few times. The most difficult thing is refraining from consuming bread, especially when the temptation is constantly around me. I...
