Bill Gates: The Most Influential Business Leader Today Bill Gates has established himself as the richest man in the world. He is the youngest self made billionaire, and perhaps the best businessman in the world. Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1951 in Seattle, He Attended Harvard University and currently working as a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Corporation. Reason for his success: Bill Gates had genius written all over him as a child. Though he never set out to portray himself, as the world's best computer programmer employees are stunned at his capacity to analyze and correctly diagnose software glitches, and his uncanny knowledge of even the latest innovative programming code. Most of Bills personal beliefs revolve around working hard and trying your hardest to succeed. He believes that if you are intelligent and know how to apply your intelligence you can accomplish anything. Bill is obviously a visionary but he also works very hard and very competitively to carry out his vision. His belief in high intelligence and hard work is what put him where he is today, as well as being in the right place at the right time. Bill Gates has an ability to identify individuals in his field that have the ability to make his visions come true. He also has the necessary financial power to encourage those individuals to come to his organization.  One thing that still drives his company and their seeming ruthlessness is Gates’ desire to win.  All the people who know him best his parents, his wife, and his good friends all recognize his competitive attitude and desire to win as the driving forces behind Microsoft and throughout his life.  Gates believes that there is no winning situation, that Microsoft is merely creating new and better programs because they must, in order to stay competitive and on top of the industry; he is encouraging good business and trying to improve the lives of consumers by making better products. Though he may never admit to being so, he has an amazing desire to be the best. Microsoft employees often feel this pressure.  They are always competing, not just against other companies, but also against each other, their friends and co-workers.  It is this driving force that has propelled Microsoft to the top of the software industry.  Contribution to society: Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have been giving away huge chunks of their fabulous wealth to some of the world's most needy cases, and they've been doing so for years.
