Would you give up friendship for a billion dollar company? Well Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Facebook, did.

Mark Zuckerberg appears to be an ordinary young man in his twenties, but he is the world’s youngest billionaire; with an estimated fortune of $30 billion. Facebook, a prevailed world wide Web site is the reason. Mark established Facebook when he was an undergraduate at Harvard University at the age of 19. This is the story of Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, how it was devised and what it will become.

Synapse was uploaded and immediately became a hit. Soon Microsoft and America Online were trying to buy Synapse for one million dollars, the two million. D’Angelo and Zuckerberg unfortunately did not want to sale Synapse at that time, then regretted it when they went of to college, and tried to sell it but by then, it was not wanted.

In the fall of 2002, Mark arrived in Harvard University, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In Harvard, Mark tried to get into some of the Final Clubs, but unfortunately he did not get in. Although, Eduardo Saverin, Mark’s new friend, did get into The Phoenix, one of the most important clubs in Harvard. Mark would often fall asleep in class, so he would not get much time to study or do work. So therefore He created a Website that would work as a study guide where people could share their notes and view others notes. In just hours mark was set for the final exams that were to take place within days.The scores were high that year and Mark passed the class without
much laborious work.

In late October, in his sophomore year, Mark hacked into the school web site to download pictures of student girls and then designed Facemash and uploaded them. Facemash is a website where people could upload pictures of themselves and then, others would vote who was hot or not. Facemash was an instant hit, with 520 people logged in within 1 ½ hours. Harvard’s administration board found out and Mark was taken to the Administrative Board. When this happened everyone knew who mark Zuckerberg was, and rumour had it, he had been expelled from harvard. Mark was not expelled, he wasn't even suspended, but put on probation. The Harvard Crimson made sure to inform the latest about Mark Zuckerberg to the whole school, so the Winklevoss twins and Divya Narendra became interested in him, as they to were trying to build a website. The Winklevoss twins and Divya met with Mark and Mark agreed to help them, even if he wasnt getting paid. the end of december came and Mark still hadn't finished Harvard Connect, the dating website the Winklevoss twins and Divya had been trying to make.
Mark then dropped Harvard Connection and told the twins and Divya that he had check out the website and it was no good as it had many bugs and such.

After Mark abandoned Harvard Connection, he talked to his friend Eduardo Saverin about ideas for a new website. This website he wanted to create so that people could communicate better.
Mark wanted to go out in the world and get noticed. He planned to first create a website like thefacebook to get noticed in Harvard, then create something bigger that would get noticed around the country. Eduardo saw the potential in his project and decided to help him out and when the business part came he would fund it. thefacebook was almost not launched, but it was in the end of February 4, 2004, and it just took Mark a week to finish.
