“Nearly one hundred years ago, when Planned Parenthood was founded, birth control was illegal” (Richards) The first clinic was called Mothers Health Office, it opened in Brookline in 1932. After the first clinic opened, more clinics opened in other cities. In 1937 Salem police raided the clinic, seized all the records and arrested medical and social workers, then the same thing happened to all the other clinics that opened up.(Negri 2) Even though many religious beliefs don't approve of birth control, I think schools should teach about it so students and teens may better understand the repercussions of pregnancy and wouldn't have to deal with the cost of raising a child and so they wouldn't end up like the large number of teen pregnancies in todays society.

Many religious beliefs don't approve of birth control. Some Christians say that women should conceive as many children as possible. Something that it is resisting God's authority, yet the bible does not require or prohibit child birth and or marriage. if you are a person that really believes in your religion, you may have one kid after another. So like i said before, if you listen to everything the bible says you may never have any children at all or you may have as many children as you can.

Some schools do have a class that teaches the body parts, where they talk about sex, and STDs as they can to be safe and prepared if and when they do have sex. What i don't see happening is showing that most pregnant teens drop out, or go to a different school that more support pregnant women, or how so many people look down on you. Some parents believe that learning about sex and how to be safer by using protection and birth control that it would encourage the adolescents to have sex. (Bouchard) Research has said that districts with abstinence-only policies also have some of the highest teenage pregnancy rates.(Denardo) Yes abstinence is the only guaranteed way to prevent pregnancy and diseases, but not all children and teenagers think about abstinence. Better safe than sorry. I look at it as not talking the students to have sexal interchorse but its for the students that are sexually active and not being smart about it. A lot of parents think that they have one hundred percent full control of if their children are or aren't sexually active when the only way they could be sure of that is if they had pretty much complete vision on their child at all times. I would suggest that students should have as much information about sex and birth control along with knowing about STDs. ‘Its not the schools place to be the parents.” (Beaumont...
