There are so many different ways to bring us a happiness that is fleeting. Such activities like shopping, eating, watching television, a drink, one time use of a drug, one view of a pornographic picture would seem to be the norm in today's society yet so many unsuspecting people are finding themselves strangled in the chains of addiction to many of these substances.The topics of this paper will come to form with a working definition of addiction. Once the definition has been established the tour of addiction will start in the brain. One would wonder as to why some would come to a place of addiction so this paper will outline but a few reasons why adults become addicted to substance and addiction. Substances come in different forms and we will take a brief tour of those who would find themselves bound to substances. With so many people and different personalities it would seem logical these many people would be led to addiction by a great many reasons. This paper will outline a few of these reasons.
