Bullying has been a problem in all schools, especially high schools. Many kids have gotten bullied for their race, beliefs, or just because they look different. Why has it been such a big problem? And why can’t we stop it? Simple, many kids don’t speak out when they are being treated in such way. Many are threaten by their bully, and for that reason none really knows when someone is being bullied.

The arts have open there doors to bullied victims for a very long time, and have been known to help much with their emotional problems and give the victims a sense of security to be themselves without being harassed, embraced, and picked on. The arts have many branches, there is dance, theater, vocal, band, piano, orchestra, visual arts, video cinema, creative writing, etc. the list can go on but, these are the basic ones. There are many benefits that art gives you, it can help a victim feel more confident about themselves and can help then come out of their shell. It can also help them stay away from the other temptations that they could get into such as drugs and underage sex.
Art has been around for many years in literature, paintings, plays, and music. It was a form of entertainment and knowledge, and still is, but in today’s society it can be used as therapy, awareness, or for individuals to express themselves and get noticed. Today art therapy is used on victims that have depression, anxieties, lack of social skills and excessive sleeping patterns or too little sleep.
It is encouraged that bullied victims join some form of art to help them with the problems they face. Many children do join theater to help with their self-esteem. Many choose art as a way to put what they are feeling in an art piece. Dance is a very healthy way to deal with problems. Video cinema can also help spread the word of bullying.
Ever since I was young I’ve been a victim of bullying, my father’s family never liked his family. My cousins would call me names and exclude me of any games they would play.
