Aims of Internal Business CommunicationThe main objectives for internal communication are:1. To pass on or transmit instructions or requests along the lines of command, for example from marketing director to sales manager to floor staff.2. To inform staff on new policies, arrangements, developments, processes etc.3. To request information from any employee in the company to assist in making decisions for the company or provide feedback after analyzing situations.4. To encourage or reassure staff in certain circumstances and to persuade and motivate them to work as individuals and as part of a team.5. To provide confirmations, responses and information upwards.6. To pass on suggestions, ideas and developments along the chain of commandUsing Notices in Business Communication - Advantages and DisadvantagesNotices are methods used to keep the workforce as a whole up to date with what is going on. There are impersonal methods of communication i.e. the same communication is sent to all the workers. Notices may relate to vacant posts, holiday arrangements, union matters or social events and are likely to be displayed on a notice board. Sometimes important notices are included with wage or salary slips. They keep workers informed and attempt to make them feel a part of a large company.The advantages of this method are:1. It can contain diagrams as well as written information.2. A written record of the message is kept.3. They can be created in such a way as to attract attention.4. Employees tend to look at notice boards in their breaks.The disadvantages to this method are:1. The message isn't clearly sent across, as not a lot of detail can be included in the notice.2. The notice can easily be taken down to be read by an employee or covered up by another notice.3. It can time to distribute the notices around the organization.4. If they don't look attractive, people tend not to look at them as they may think from their first impressions that it doesn't seem very interesting.This would have open channels to communication because the information will be put up on a notice board so that everyone can read it not just to one specific individual unless otherwise stated.Methods of CommunicationThe importance of the two-way nature of communication in which the success of the process depends heavily upon the sender receiving feedback. The sender requires assurance that his / her points are being received and understood, e.g., on a notice board, if a petition has been put up, the group organizing the petition need others to put their name on the petition to give feedback, and show that the message is being spread across.
