Cardiomyopathy is considered a major heart disease in which the heart becomes very weak and it also starts to enlarge. In very rare cases of this disease the heart is known to replace the muscle tissue with scar tissue. If cardiomyopathy is not caught or treated it can often lead to heart failure. The main word here is “treated.” This type of disease can be treated based on the type you have and also with how serious it is. There are many different ways that this can be treated that will be talked about, in detail, later on in the paper.
People diagnosed with this heart disease have problems because it makes it to where it’s a lot harder for their heart to pump blood and ...view middle of the document...
Alcoholic cardiomyopathy is considered a subtype of dilated cardiomyopathy.
Research for cardiomyopathy is expanding more and more every day. It’s said that cardiomyopathy is a lot more common than thought of before all the research had been done. Research has found many different ways in which to prevent, treat, and help patients with this disease survive for as long as possible. Many of which will be discussed later on in the body of this paper.
The main purpose of this research paper is to discuss and understand more about the deadly disease of cardiomyopathy. It affects millions of patients every year and people need to know what to do to prevent it, treat it, and how to handle this disease if they are diagnosed with it. Not only does this disease affect adults but it also plays a pretty big part in the lives of few unlucky children every year. Because of this a major amount of research is being done between all ages to figure out how people are being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and to figure out what to do in order to stop this deadly disease from affecting these people’s lives. Cardiomyopathy, like any other disease, isn’t something to take lightly. If it’s not treated immediately it can cause many different things to happen to the body and the most important and what everyone wants to avoid when diagnosed with this is death.
During the course of this paper I will be talking about many different things concerning cardiomyopathy. Most of these being; the signs and symptoms, causes, treatment, how to prevent this disease, and the many different types of cardiomyopathy. The development of research over the years has provided me with all the information needed in order to educate my readers all about cardiomyopathy. The information in this paper will further the knowledge of all the readers about this fatal disease and show how serious it actually is.
Dilated cardiomyopathy is one of the three major types of this disease. In this type different parts of the myocardium is dilated which is where it gets its name from. What causes the enlargement of the heart in dilated cardiomyopathy is that the ventricular systolic pump function is impaired. In turn this causes major heart enlargement and also hypertrophy.
Occurring more frequently in men than in women, DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) is the most common form of cardiomyopathy. It’s known to affect children from time to time but it’s most common from ages twenty to sixty and can cause congestive heart failure.
Dilated cardiomyopathy can produce numerous signs and symptoms. Some of them are based on how far along the disease is whether it be new to your body or if it has been there for a while. The major signs and symptoms that can be produced from this are heart failure and heart arrhythmias. These only occur in the most serious circumstances of this disease. Studies have shown that people diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy have a huge...
