Cause And Effect Essay

927 words - 4 pages

Writing is an art. Depending on the person some people are able create beautiful landscapes and others struggle at the simple task of drawing a stick figure. I am one of those people that draws stick figures. I have never been a good writer. I have heard from a friend of mine that there are two types of minds. One that is very analytical and excels in math and science, another is one that is very creative making a great writer. I am a very technical person and lack a very colorful imagination. When writing I find myself searching for what needs to go next in a sentence to continue the essay. My family has never pushed for me or my sister to be excellent writers. My father has an extraordinary writing ability and I found myself amazed as a kid of how easily literature flows from him. I consider myself very lucky with the schooling that has been provided to me. I have had very good writing teachers in my schooling and in some cases they have forwarded me as a writer. The biggest hinderance to my writing is video games. The way that we communicate focuses on basic language and slang just to get a laugh out of the people that I am speaking with. My writing ability is limited, in some cases it can take me up to three hours to write a simple five paragraph essay.
My mom and I are similar. We both are not very profound writers. She and I are very alike, both of us have the same personality and same interests in school. She like I loved math. My father on the other hand is an excellent writers. My little sister is just like my father and can easily write an essay that is very well written. My Mother and Father never pushed writing as an important subject. I would never had them proof read my material because I was often embarrassed of my writing, I did well enough in writing to get decent grades in classes to not draw attention to the subject. I believe that some of my abili lack of ability to write is due to genes that I have inherited from my mother.
I have always hated english. That was the class that I could the most easily daze off because I hated the subject. I especially hated writing. I think that is due partly to my lack of ability to find the words that i want to express how I feel. I have had teachers that were nothing but supportive and helped me further my writing but I found that as the years progressed I was getting left behind in my...
