Diabetes is a disease that is accompanied by high or below average levels of glucose in the blood. This is caused by a defect in insulin production where the pancreas produces little to no insulin, or the cells are not responding to the insulin that the body produces. Diabetes can result in serious complications and even death if left untreated. In the last 10 years the rates of diabetes from bad eating habits and obesity have more than doubled.The general symptoms of diabetes are varying levels of blood sugar. Higher blood sugar levels cause fluids to be pulled from the body tissue and lenses of the eyes causing increased urination, extreme thirst, and blurred vision. A low blood sugar level means that not enough insulin is being moved into the body's cells. Without enough insulin the body is deprived of energy causing irritability, drowsiness, increased appetite, and sudden weight loss even if eating more than usualThere are 3 main types of diabetes.
