Spices are aromatic or pungent vegetable substance used to flavor food. Herbs are any plant with leaves, seeds, or flavors used for flavoring food, medicine, or perfume. What makes them different is that spices are used for color and preservation and herbs are used for flavoring and used for medical reasons. My topic is considered a herbs because it used for medical and flavoring foods. Cayenne pepper is herb know to the French as poivre de Cayenne and is named for the city of Cayenne in French Guiana.
