Centura Health Mission and Vision
Centura Health is a hospital system located in Colorado and Kansas. They have created a mission and vision statement that focuses on the communities that they serve. Their current mission Statement is “We extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities.” (Centura, 2014). Their current vision statement is “Centura Health will fulfill a covenant of caring for our communities with excellence and integrity to become their partner for life.” (Centura, 2014). These statements are short and meet most of Aguinis’ eight components for the mission and vision statements.

Growth is “extending the healing ministry of Christ” and “nurturing the health of the people in our communities”; they are continually looking for ways to expand their hospital system to increase access to care for the surrounding communities. Their public image is caring for and nurturing the health of the communities they are serving. Finally, their self-concept of business is using Christ to help care for those that need it, and nurturing the health of everyone else in the community.
Vision Statement
A vision statement should be a future oriented on what the organization is going to strive to become (Aguinis, 2013). This statement should be set for about five years in the future. The Centura Vision Statement is “Centura Health will fulfill a covenant of caring for our communities with excellence and integrity to become their partner for life.” (Centura, 2014). Agunis (2013) states that the eight characteristics to a good vision statement are it should be brief, verifiable, bound by a timeline, current, focused, understandable, inspiring, and a stretch.
