Chiwetel Ejiofor began his career doing plays and was later recognized for his great talent. He has gone from playing roles as a supporting actor to being one of the most highly recognized actors in Hollywood. As a kid he would go up to the studio and watch plays all day until it was time to go home. The beginning of Chiwetel Ejiofor career started with plays. His dream was that one day he would star in a movie as the main character.

Later in 2003 he played a villain in the movie serenity. Chiwetel made his breakout performance in Stephen Frears Dirty Pretty Things in 2003, where he played as Okwe a kind hearted Nigerian doctor. Ejiofor landed another high - profile romantic comedy Love Actually co - starring Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, and Laura Linney, in which he played as Peter The husband to Keira K. Juliet. Then he took a turn in Spike Lee’s relationship comedy She Hate Me in 2004. Don Cheadle became a success on radio and television talk shows and has Chiwetel star on one of his talk shows, he speaks on taking on one of the most daring roles in recent times his hesitation movies involving black people and more. The next film Chiwetel starred in was with Denzel Washington in American Gangster and he was the brother of the once powerful heroin kingpin frank Lucas (Denzel Washington). Chiwetel directed the short film Slapper in 2008. Chiwetel starred in Endgame and portrayed Thabo Mbeki the director of information for the African National Congress in the days of apartheid. In 2009 he joined a cast for three films Sci Fi thriller 2012, Endgame, and Tonight at Noon. The summer of 2013 Chiwetel appeared in the Joe Wright play Season of the Congo(Biography).
