Classification Of Sciences Essay

528 words - 2 pages

I can get new and useful knowledge from the sciences books, so I am interested in sciences in an academic field. Because sciences are divided into many classes, and I can't describe a full classification of sciences with my in being knowledge, therefore I will only describe certain parts of the total classification. Science is classified into pure science and natural science. Pure sciences include mathematics, physics and chemistry, natural sciences include earth sciences and biology, and each science also marks off some relevant fields of study.Firstly, I describe pure sciences. The science of mathematics consists of five categories; these are general mathematics systems, algebra and number theory, geometry, probabilities and mathematical statistics. Geometry may be defined as the branch of mathematics which studies the mathematics of the properties, measurement and relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces and solids. Probabilities may be defined as the branch of mathematics which studies a number expressing the likelihood that a specific event will occur, expressed as the ratio of the number of actual occurrences to the number of possible occurrence. Physics consists of five categories. These are mechanics, aerodynamics, optics, thermodynamics and electricity and electronics. Aerodynamics may be defined as a branch of physics which studies the dynamics of bodies moving relative to gases, the interaction of moving object with the atmosphere. Thermodynamics may be defined as the branch of physics which studies the relationships between heat and other forms of energy. And the three kinds of mechanics are solid mechanics, fluid mechanics and gas mechanics. The four kinds of electricity and electronics are electromagnetism, electrostatics, electrodynamics and...

As a result of increase in the applications involving complex valued sig- nals like telecommunication [14, 15], adaptive array signal processing [16, 17], medical imaging signals [18, 19] etc., many complex valued classifiers were de- veloped. Recently Complex valued classifiers were also proposed and evaluated 25 for real valued classification. It has been shown that complex valued classi- fiers

Computer-Assisted Text Analysis

740 words - 3 pages Computational approaches are largely used in the variety of text applications such as feature selection and classification tasks because of their efficiency of dealing with huge amount of data. The discussion is concerned, however, with the applications of computational approaches to only literary texts in general and Hardy’s texts in particular. To my knowledge, there is no computer-aided thematic classification of the works of Thomas Hardy

This statistical method is widely used in various fields of science such as medical sciences, engineering sciences and behavioral sciences. In addition, the kappa method can also be used “to classify (assign) objects to a set of mutually exclusive (nominal) categories, such as demographic groups, psych diagnostic classifications or

Face Recognition System

1645 words - 7 pages face recognition algorithms generally consist of two steps [4]: 1) feature extraction; and 2) classification. The extraction of discriminative and stable features from the high dimensional face images is one challenging issue that remains unsolved in the face recognition systems [14]. A set of well extracted features not only can speed up the following classification procedure, but also can improve the classification accuracy. The feature
