The cloud is drastically changing the way we create, manage, and store networks and resources by hosting services on the cloud; and an IT professional will need to know how they are changing the industry and what the models have to offer. Each type of model (public, private, and hybrid) will come with varying prices and security concerns which will need to be weighed to determine which cloud model would be the best for the network. Once choosing the proper implementation for the cloud a service will need to be chosen, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. The services come with varying aspects to way as well in terms of security for the network. Every part of the cloud should be researched before choosing both a model and service. Not all cloud service providers conduct their services in the same manner, so knowing everything involved with the way data is sent, received, and stored is important.

Putting computing resources onto the cloud with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) will also cut costs for the network by not needing as many people to monitor and manage the network, because the cloud service provider (CSP) will maintain the network. Instead the process of managing the network and even adding hardware such as storage will become unneeded, because the CSP maintains the network and storage and other network resources are available upon demand through the cloud. The cloud using a pay as you go payment model which charges the network what it uses and provisions the resources so the network can run efficiently.
