Should College athletes be paid?
People often debate on issues in the world. People often debate on a significant topic. As a result, there are two sides to the argument, one side being the Yes side and the opposing side saying No. The argument that comes to mind is whether college athletes should be paid for playing amateur sports. Authors on both sides of the argument wrote essays that express their view on the college athlete issue. Some authors say that paying the athletes would be beneficial to the players and some say it wouldn’t be beneficial to the college. In the articles, “College athletes deserve to be paid”, by Michael Wilbon, a writer from ESPN and, “The Problems with Paying College Athletes”, by Kristi Dosh, they share their stances on the issue. I personally believe that college athletes shouldn’t be paid because it isn’t beneficial for the school, and doesn’t create equal opportunities for all students.
In the article, “College Athletes Deserve to be Paid”, by Michael Wilbon, he emphasizes that paying athletes would not be beneficial because it would be a problem to pay the athletes.
