From reading the brochures and materials available online, one can come to the conclusion that the University of North Carolina at Charlotte advertises an environment which combines the required work ethic and the enjoyment of an interactive and enjoyable community where a student can reach their goals.
According to the university’s mission statement, the institution values, ‘Accessible and affordable quality education that equips students with intellectual and professional skills, ethical principles, and an international perspective.’ They accomplish this message by using vivid pictures of the students interacting within the Charlotte area and with each other. This college also makes itself a top candidate for college by offering ninety competitive undergraduate majors which test the abilities and mental stamina of current and prospective students.
The type of education portrayed by the university is influenced by the international community. It gives students the chance to be inspired by different opportunities, like internships and clubs, to enhance the specialization of their degree of study. This makes the student more goal-orientated towards an education that will make them valuable and versatile for whatever job market they walk in to. As stated by the mission statement, this college will strive to, “Pursue opportunities to enhance personal wellness through artistic, athletic, or recreational activities,” and to “develop an infrastructure that makes learning accessible to those on campus and in our community and supports the scholarly activities of the faculty.”
This institute sticks to its mission statement by briefly listing and explaining some of the more attractive groups, clubs and activities they have to offer through their advertisements. The brochure highlights the athletic achievements and school spirit by showing former school players in action. In addition, they show a marvellous landscape picture of the outdoor sporting fields that are located on the campus. In contrast, the school also offers and explains why students should take advantage of study-abroad programs.
A smart tactic the school uses to attract the reader is the unique approach of talking to not only to the prospective students, but also the parents....
