The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit association of 1,281 Institutions, Conferences, Organizations and Individuals that organizes the Athletic programs of many Colleges and University in the United States. Do athletes should remain unpaid like they have for over 100 years? For the past years one of the most demanding issues in the world of sports today has now become a matter the NCAA cannot afford to ignore it. As describe in (Source A),“The NCAA is a multi-billion dollars industry that generate over $845 million last years due to their player’s ability to entertain and perform to their fullest extent at all times.” Why they don’t paid athletes if they generate that amount of money or do the NACC are exploited colleges athletes?
College student should be paid, because they are putting themselves at the same physical risk as the professionals athletes involved in each particular sport. College athletes students suffer injuries the same as the professional players, but the collegiate athletic don’t have permanent guarantee if they physical stop paying. They need to be insured medically which their bodies cannot further develop lingering problems due to injury and tress on the tissue, muscle and bones. The NCAA does not consider its player as professional athletes basically because they are in college. They should get paid, because they waked early for practice and at the same time school responsibility, is basically a full time job which you does not get paid for any external activities or social.
