“Technology allows us to stay connected to everyone we know” (willloghini.com). What would we do without the technology that we have now days? Technology has came a long ways then what it use to be. Before, there were any smart phones, no Apple products, computers, or Internet. People had to use rotary type telephones, typewriters, telegraphs, and phonographs. The letters were hand typed and hand delivered, not via text message through a phone or through an email that we can do now. The phone calls were not private calls, everyone was on the same line and if you picked up the line and someone was on the phone, you had to wait till they got done with the call before you could use the phone. Phones have many features that come with them, some have a place where you can play music on them, clock, alarm clock, and even the ability to download apps and play games. Computers also have many features, just depends on how much money you want to spend on one. They can come fully equipped or they can come with nothing installed except for the basic essentials. Emails or instant messaging come in great use when you do not want to have to wait for a week or two for a response back to a letter, where with emailing or instant messaging you can get a response immediately or within the hour you sent the message. Before the use of phones or computers if one of your friends moved out of the town that would be the last time you seen them until they came back and seen you, now days you have social media sites where you can keep up to date with them, conversate back and forth with them and even video chat with them. These are just a few changes in phones, Internet, and computers.

Cell phones have transformed since the beginning of the first cell phone. Now days cell phones have the ability to text back and forth to friends, internet is on phones now where you can search the web, send via emails, and also get on social media sites. Hands free is another option you can have on the phone, where you can ask your phone (siri) to dial a number for you and it will start calling it. You can also merge phone calls together and also hold one phone call and answer another phone calls. Phones have come a long ways since 1870 and they seem to always come out with a new phone or new update every time you turn around. Texting can be between one person and a group of how many people you want in the conversation. You can send messages, emojis, and even pictures throughout the text.
