Comparison And Contrast Essay

726 words - 3 pages

To class this comparison and contrast of The Matrix with regards of readings of Plato and Descartes would be a challenge. On this account, the comparison would be that all three questioned what is reality? What is real?, Am I dreaming?, or Am I up? Considered reading and re-reading all three texts to see that one comparison staring right at in the eye was difficult. The deliberation any cognitive ability to question what’s real seems to be a few centuries old questions. Nevertheless, the contrast would be having the opportunity to free our minds from all cares. In the Matrix the contrast was freeing our mind from a super computers.
In addition, Descartes challenges were perception of the mind, possession of sense, and the imagination of the conciseness. Descartes quotes “Nevertheless, the belief that there is a God who is all powerful, and who created me, such as I am, has, for a long time, obtained steady possession of my mind. How, then, do I ...view middle of the document...

However, the contrast between all three would be the matrix’s deal with technology and mind; Descartes deal with the perception of sense and knowing if what you are experience is even real.
By the way of contrast, at the end of cave allegory, Socrates implies most men want to see the cave or see reality. Second, in the betrayal of Morpheus, Cypher says, “that it is better to live in the artificial world of the matrix”. Be that as it may, all three have to deal with the harshness of reality. Even though, people for generation uses the “ignorance is bliss” as an excuse really do not cover it; For example: “ the Justification of repentance of when people come to Christ or experience the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. They no longer supposed to live the same life style or do the same things they once did. However, some may chose not to know the truth and they want to go back to be ignorant of the fact. The harshness of reality is once you know the truth its hard to go back to the bliss of ignorance. Its like Adam and Eve with the tree of Good and Evil. That one bit! And they could not go back in the Garden of Eden. Finally my personal opinion is just like Garden of Eden, Once you are expose to the truth its hard to get the innocent back.
In the end, the main question that have pledge man for generation is, “Can we ever be certain that our beliefs are true?” to conclude the bible says, in “1 corinthians 12:13 KJV, For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

Finally, there are many ways to the path of truth or true knowledge. That’s one path in Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: seeing thou has forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy Children.” God has specifically put a design in us to seek him out. For example: Is God real? Is their God? Is there more to life then what’s right in front of me? God put a safety valve in us to worship him and to seek his real truth.
