Resultaten visade ett antal mycket allvarliga brister de svenska reaktorerna. Haveriberedskapsorganisationen är inte kapabel till att hantera ett haveri på mer än en enhet i taget. Haveriberedskapen har inte heller utrustning för att klara ett utdraget händelseförlopp. Flera av reaktorerna är inte konstruerade för att klara av en jordbävning, många av reaktorerna skulle inte klara av en havsnivåhöjning på tre meter.2.1.3 Möjlighet att avveckla reaktorer nuEnergimyndigheten gör prognoser över energi- och elanvändningen i Sverige. Enligt en långsiktsprognos från 2012 som är gällande fram till 2030 kommer Sverige ha ett stort och växande överskott av el. Sverige exporterade redan 2012, ett överskott på cirka 20 TWh el. Sverige beräknas att inneha ett överskott på 20 och 25 TWh inom perioden till år 2030.2.1.4 Stoppa planerna på effekthöjningarFör att förbättra säkerheten bör möjligheten att göra effekthöjningar och livstidsförlängningar stoppas. SSM har i dag som praxis att samtliga reaktorer i Sverige för köra hur länge som helst, även med höjd effekt.
