In contrast to the historical views of leadership, the consensus has shifted from the great deeds of the individual to the potential impact that they might have on the environment. This change in emphasis can be attributed to the evolution of social values, need for transparency, and the administrations discloser. Other factors that have propelled this evolution include the definition of social dynamics and a revaluation of the expectations of the follower-leader relationship.
