When the Roman Empire fell the people were left in confusion and left the people in awe. Since they were left without any ruling, they had no idea what to do. Riots and fights broke out throughout Europe. Kings and queens had to tame the corruption. The feudal system had been created to keep order throughout the kingdoms. This order was suppose to keep the kingdoms from ever corrupting again.The feudal system was made to keep order but itself it was corrupted. Once born into a status that is in which you stay. In year 1429 Joan committed to her visions. She had stepped to the French military commander, seeking to upbring her visions. With the help of Charles VII she became the leader of the french army. “Dressed in armor , Joan inspired the troops and achieved a stunning victory. It proved to be the turning point in the war.” Joan visions had propred, she had lead france to victory. However with much achievement it was quickly overturned. After the victory, Joan had been captured by the Burgundians. They had given commander Charles a ransom, however charles made no attempt to pay the ransom. Joan had been sold to the english. “The English turned her over to the inquisition. She was accused of witchcraft. Joan confessed to heresy,or wrong beliefs, under torture, but then proclaimed the truth of her visions once more. On May 30,1431, Joan was burned to death in the marketplace at Rouen.” The inquisitors test people for witchcraft. They suspected Joan as a witch because she was saying god was speaking to her. The church did not like that because they did not understand how someone outside the church could hear god speaking to them. The church wanted all power, they could not stand the fact Joan had god speaking to her. They wanted her to say that it was all untrue, for her to say she was dreaming it was all a lie. They only wanted the power of god. “The control the church had over the people was total.” The church made people believe that they did not pay the tithes they would not go to heaven, making them believe in hell ever more than ever. The church deceiving the people and becoming wealthy off of their riches, the little the people had.
