The specifications of this assignment, facilitated by Professor xxxxxx, for the University of Phoenix- XXXXXX Campus were to research a peer-reviewed article, which reports innovative research in the area of finance and to put in order, a synopsis concerning that article. The author of this paper chose the article; Effects of Ownership Type and Socio-cultural Context on Leadership in the Banking Sector: An International Study, written by Detelin Elenkov and Iya Petkova. The intention of this synopsis is to define the business research and its purpose, explain the business problem(s) under investigation and describe the data collection method(s) used in the research project. This synopsis will also briefly discuss what the researchers of the project concluded as a result of the research. The author of this paper prepared this synopsis in accordance with the provisions outlined in Research Methods for Business: A Skill Building Approach, by Uma Sekaran.According to the article, researchers conducted a study to examine the "relationship between a company's ownership and the leadership style of bank managers in a transitioncountry" (Elenkov & Petkova, 2008). Researchers hypothesis that socio-cultural context has a direct impact on the effectiveness of a given leadership, i.e. culture-specific.
