Descriptive Essay

Today it is Christmas, everyone was buzzing busily around the house and people filled the noisy streets. I was with my mama and papa at my grandmother’s enormous mansion to celebrate Christmas. We had arrived there early to help with the huge pile of decorations that was waiting in the basement before our friends and family came. When we arrived I gasped. The mansion was big. It was huge. As we entered the high and tall shiny bronze gate we could see a beautiful swimming pool, a big tennis court and a big and comfortable outdoor lounge. The outdoor lounge was enormous and pretty and covered in flowers of every colour, it smelt really good. Smelling the flowers makes you feel happy and relaxed. Over by the white and smooth marble water fountain was a whole range of flowers, flowers of every kind, the ones I adored was the roses, lilies and tulips. The marble fountain was a beautiful sculpture of the Greek god Eros, and it was beautifully and elegantly carved. As we entered the grand main door the first thing I smelled was the lovely smell of roses as we entered a long hallway, with bouquets of beautiful red roses by the side and breathtaking expensive old paintings hung above on the high beautifully painted walls on both sides. The wall was painted red with a tint of gold on the walls edge. As I was admiring the paintings I heard my mama call me, and I looked around the long and elegant hallway and heard mama from the living room, I rushed there and I ran across the beautiful red carpet and I leant down to fell the material of it, and it was so smooth and soft as if it was made out of some kind of material that belonged elsewhere. As I entered the dining room the first thing I saw was this big and warm fireplace. With a carpet that spread across the floor with big and soft comfy sofas in front of the warm fireplace. The high ceiling was so high it felt like looking at the sky, with the sun being a huge bright crystal light, which hangs down from the ceiling and lights up the whole room. I than saw my mama and papa and granny by the high and long table and I saw papa up high on a wooden ladder putting up the decorations. Mama than waved me over. Mama said that she needed a big and bright yellow shining star to put on top of the Christmas tree. And she gave me some money and I could spend the change on my favorite candy, a CANDY CANE!!! I love the peppermint flavored candy canes, they taste wonderful and to describe they’re...
