Done with evaluating the three designs, finally we decided to choose the second design as our final design. We chose this design because it is the most detailed design with its explanations, the most futuristic, the most specific, and has the most features compare with the two designs. Other than that, this design is completely match with the design specifications. It travel using magnetic fields, fit up to six passengers, and has an auto-pilot system. For the model, this design also fits with the specifications. This design will be in 1:10 scale, made out cardboard and styrofoam, and look futuristic. In our opinion, design 2 is the most detailed and match with the design specifications as well. We did not choose the other two designs because it is not really specific and futuristic for design 1 and seems more likely a public transport for the last design.
This is our last design of the “skyway” train. This design has a lot of similarities in term of the exterior design with the previous design. However, this design is simpler and has fewer details and explanations compare to the previous one. Moreover, the design of the train is not really appropriate for us because it seems more likely a public transport and we are going to make a private public transport. However, to completely evaluate this design, I compared this last design against design specifications. Same like all the designs, the trains will travel using magnetic fields, fit up to six passengers, and has an auto-pilot system. However, this design has some differences in term of the model. Although the model will also 1:10 scale, the materials use to make the model in the design are different with the materials use in the design specifications. In the specifications, it written that the model will be made out cardboard and Styrofoam, however, on the design, it used rubber pieces, cardboard, and plastic. Actually, materials is not a huge problem for us to not choose this design as our final design, however by considering at the ‘public’ design, in my opinion, it will be inappropriate for us to choose this design as our final design since we planned to make a private but public transportation.
