Spender’s family lineage was passed on to generation to come.
Spender’s start his school line at Hall school in Hampstead and then Gresham School in Holt 1918. Spender’s been bullied by schoolfellows and later to Charlecote School in worthing, but was very unhappy. After the death of his mother, Spender transfer to University College School in 1922. Spender’s books of poetry include Twenty Poems (1930), Vienna (1934), The Still Centre (1939), Poems of Dedication (1946), and
The Generous Days (1971). #4 He made an honorary fellow in 1973 at University College, Oxford.
While Spender’s was at Oxford he befriend with W. H. Auden. Despite not finishing his degree, Spender’s years at Oxford was formative.
