Kaikkia potilaita tulisi katsoa yksilöllisestä näkökulmasta.1.2 PakkoneuroositIhmisellä, joka sairastaa pakkoneuroosia, on pakonomaisia ajatuksia ja toimintoja. Nämä ajatukset ovat järjettömiä, ja henkilö tietää sen, mutta ei voi hallita niitä. Ne vievät häneltä tavattomasti aikaa ja ne voivat aiheuttaa ahdistusta ja kärsimystä. Kun potilas menee psykiatrin vastaanotolle, hoito aloitetaan etsimällä sellaisia tilanteita, jossa potilas tuntee tämän pakonomaisen tunteen. Siitä lähdetään sitten käyttäytymisterapioilla hoitamaan sairautta. Suurin osa kaikista pakkoneuroosissa hoitoon hakeutuneet potilaat ovat parantuneet, joten se ei ole vaikeasti parannettava sairaus, mutta sellaisiakin tapauksia on.1.3 StressiSuomessa on tehty tutkimuksia, joissa on todettu, että stressi on huolestuttavan yleistä. Stressiä voi luonnehtia erilaisista paineista aiheutuvaksi ylihälytystilaksi. Ihmisten sopeutumiskykyä on koetellut suuret muutokset työelämässä.
