I stood there frozen; watching as he slowly began to walk away. I bit her lower lip and felt the tears beginning to well up in my eyes. I knew I had to do something, anything to keep him from leaving me behind. For the past 10 years, we’ve have always been together, so why is he leaving me all alone? I wanted to scream at him, but my mouth was dry and the words got caught in my throat. I wanted to run to him, but my feet were frozen and I was unable to feel them. Now he was hugging his parent’s goodbye, the train was at a standstill, this was my chance, yet still I was unable to move. I watched as he stepped upon the platform, before finally turning around and giving me a smile that melted my frozen body. I felt as time slowed down as I hollered my name across the platform. I grabbed a hold of him; my tears finally running down my redden cheeks. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, kissing the top of my head.
“Will you come back for me?” I asked as he pulled her away. He gave me a soft downhearted smile, placing his hand my cheek in order to wipe away my tears.
“Goodbye, Freya.” He whispered as he turned around and boarded the train, leaving me standing there all alone. I could hear everyone else call to him happily, telling them to call or come visit soon. I watched as the train began to move, I saw him hanging his head out the window, waving to everyone, that same goofy smile he always had planted across his face. I felt hot tears run down my cheek as the train began to move even faster. I watched as he began to retreated back into the cab, I began to run, chasing after the train. I heard her mother’s voice calling from behind, but I ignored it. I knew it was futile, but I just couldn’t understand, why after so long, why he was suddenly going away. I cried out his name as I began to slow down, watching as the train disappeared off in the distance.
“Evan,” I whispered under my breath as soon the train vanished from site completely.
“Freya! Freya, wake up!”
The voice snapped Freya out of her dream and back into reality. She opened her eyes and blinked a few time until the blurriness wore off. She lifted her head and looked around; it took her a few moments to realize that she was in a classroom that was empty except the girl that stood above her. She began to rub her temple, feeling a headache coming on.
“Really Freya, you really need to stop falling asleep in class so much,” Grace Taylor said with a shake of her head, causing a piece of hair to come loose from her ponytail and fell over her cat green like eyes.
“Sorry, sorry Prez.” Freya said with a smirk after watching Grace’s expression, Freya knew that Grace hated when she called her Prez, but it was fitting seeing how she was Student Council President. She sighed as she pushed herself up from the desk, flinging her backpack over her shoulder, “I just couldn’t sleep last night.”
Grace’s face immediately changed from annoyance to concern. “Oh, I’m sorry. Today is the day that...
