Do alcohol, smoking and illegal drugs affect the pregnancy? Yes I believe that smoking illegal drugs and drinking alcohol really effects your baby in a very dangerous way .I understand that whatever the mother is consuming so is the child. Alcohol already attacks the drinker’s body and has very serious consequences, so just imagine what it does to the baby. The second stage the heart is developing and it is damage to a few of the cells in the wall didvding the left from the right side of the heart and it might be left which means the baby would be born with a hole in its heart. The vital time for the heart is from about three two seven weeks. Most of the time the woman will not even look as if they is pregnant. A developing baby is call a fetus and it is less critical period than the last stage we looked at. Nearly all theparts of the fetus’s body have been made ,and now they are just growing bigger and strong. The placenta acts as a kind of controlcenter for what goes into the baby, and it keeps the baby’s blood and the mother’s blood separate from each other. The chemical that the woman use that might be medicines are food additives, pesticides or in the air as pollution or they might be things we can often think as chemicalslike alcohol or chemicals in cigarettes.
