994 words - 4 pages

I accept gay marriage as a legitimate relationship because I believe everyone should be free to marry the person they love. In the court of law Judge Michael Mcshane wrote that the

He mentioned that granting gay and lesbian couples the right to marry would not have any effect on other families, and couples, nor would it burden the state. “Oregon law recognizes a marriage of love with the same equal eye that it recognizes a marriage of convenience”, Mcshane wrote. The Legalization of gay marriage has proven to be a good thing towards society, and the economy, For Example, it helps curb the deficit, it boost tax revenue, it helped NYC’s economy, more weddings means more money, etc. Marriage is a key to the pursuit of happiness, something people aspire to, and keep aspiring to again and again, even when their experience has been far from happy. Nobody can say you can't get married whether its the same sex or opposite. Marriage has lots of meaning behind it, waking up to the fact that there are people in this country different from you is a relief. Heterosexual couple, and a unmarried gay couple are actually quite the same from each other, they both can commit themselves to one another, and they can live together. Gay and lesbian marriage is about their relationship being recognized precisely as a marriage. Gay marriage is about forcing the body of politic to recognize homosexual unions as legitimate. I also accept gay marriage as a legitimate relationship because I believe that two people that are the same sex have the right to get married without being judged, without being able to hear emotionally, physically, and mentally comments about their sexuality. Whether somebody is gay or not they are still human like the rest of us, they still sleep, eat, go to the beach, and have fun like the rest of us so why are they being treated like they are different? God doesn't accept gay couples or marriage but everyone does not have to believe that. He take us as what we are as long as we believe in him and ask for forgiveness, not everyone is perfect, and he won't judge you about your actions, and the way you handle it. If society’s goal is to support and encourage marriage, then it shouldn’t do anything that would only serve to harm marriage in the long run. Gay...
