You have seen them advertised everywhere. Magazines and television commercials are always displaying ads for an antioxidant supplement. Before knowing if you need them it is important to know what they are. There are powerful and much needed supplements especially for those of us who do not eat enough fruits and vegetables.

Antioxidants are beneficial in keeping our bodies healthy. We are all searching for ways to improve our health and to look and feel younger. Antioxidants are meant to protect the cells in our body from damage caused by free radicals. They also rid the body of toxins, possibly slow the aging process and reduce inflammation in the circulatory system.

Two forms of natural antioxidants can be found in the turmeric spice and green tea. Teas, especially green teas contain antioxidants that are extremely beneficial for your health. Turmeric has been used for many years for therapeutic uses. It is a spice that can be used in foods for is beneficial compounds.

They can also be found in berries such as black or blue berries. If you like wine, red wine is also a great source for getting a dose of antioxidants. Vitamin c is an excellent source and is very beneficial for the immune system.

As we age our bodies are continually exposed to outside elements such as pollution, which is harmful to our cells and skin due to the free radicals formed from the outside toxins. These toxins break down the good cells which cause the skin to sag and wrinkle.
