Over the past few years, drinking and driving has been a major issue in Canada causing lots of deaths. Impaired drivers have been involved in a lot of traffic collisions. Every single injury and death caused by drunk driving is totally preventable. Recently, more laws have been enforced to prevent these accidents and also ways to stop these impaired driving causing accidents. Recently there has been numerous people their lives through car accidents. Drinking and driving is the instigator which leads these accidents. Also, 7.4 percent of men and 3 percent of women were reported in daily drinking. (National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, para 10) In Canada, young people have the most frequency of traffic death and injury per capita between all age groups. Also the highest death rate per kilometer driven are amongst all drivers under the age of 75.(Maad Canada, point 1) As a result, most late teens die or seriously get injured more than any age group. Similarly, motor vehicle crashes are the prominent cause of death between 15- 25 year olds, alcohol is the instigator in 50 percent of those crashes. Revisions are shown that young drivers are vulnerable in road accidents for two main reasons: the lack of experience and immaturity. Despite the fact that young people are least likely to be vulnerable to drive impaired, yet again the ones who consistently do are very high risk of a car crash. As a result, young drivers who drink are very vulnerable to be killed or injured during the summer (32.4% and 40.8% correspondingly) and least likely to be killed or injured in the winter are (8% and 11.4% correspondingly) (Maad Canada, para 5). In addition, during the weekend a large proportion of young drinking drivers die or get seriously injured during the night time. In most cases, young drinking drivers are killed or brutally get injured when driving a car. When it comes to accountability of the crash The teen that was fatally injured was the one that had been drinking and not the drivers. When drivers reach the blood alcohol level of.10 percent, they are 51 more times more vulnerable than a normal driver to get involved in a brutal car accident. Drinking and driving is one of the major issues in Canada, and there have been many more laws enforced to prevent these accidents and as well on ways to stop these impaired driving causing accidents. Canada is a huge an a well developed country, and every province has very stern and tough driving laws that can lead to various penalties. Some of them include severe fines, driving license suspension, impounding the driver's vehicle and as well as spending time behind bars. Those are the final results if drivers are found driving impaired and being pulled over. If a driver is involved in an accident while drunk, the legal cost can drastically get higher. After the incident, if the other driver is seriously injured or pronounced dead at the scene, then the charge would be called a vehicular manslaughter. This includes spending time behind bars for long periods of times and the demolition of their lives. In Canada, each province controls what legal punishments are in place while drinking and driving, but drivers must understand the fact that no matter where and when the incident happens, the law will be always unforgiving and conclusive. In some cases, if the drivers impaired driving results consist with injuries or death, drivers can find them self facing a lawsuit regardless if they harm the assets of another person...
