Egypt mythology is one of the most complex yet interesting mythologies in history. They have beliefs that are fascinating and most of them are still mysteries to us today. Mythology is defined as a collection of interrelated stories of a given culture.
The starts of myths are a way to explain why things are happening in nature and are the only way to explain why certain things are happening such as the change in weather. A myth can start as a story and turn into an elaborate story about how the world was created and reasons as to why it happened and in the steps everything was created as well. They can be very detailed or bare bones. Egyptian mythology elevated the people in their stories to the level of Gods and Goddesses by giving them supernatural and special powers (Riordan 2013). With the birth of Nut and Geb the sky goddess and earth god the universe was now born. One great power that Ra had was the ability to create man with only his tears (N/A 2010). Many stories show how evil man was against Ra and in most cases, they plotted to kill Ra. When he learned about everything man had done, he decided that man should be destroyed and set the goddess Hathor to wipe out mankind. Harthor is depicted as having horns and a headdress with a set in sun disk. She did an incredible job at killing man she went so far to only leave a handful of men left (Riordan 2013).
After the attack, Ra had a small amount of remorse and left some man alive. Now Ra was sick of man and left in the...
