The oil we get out of the ground was mostly formed by organic matter. Any decayed organic matter such as aquatic life, fossils of plants and animals, wood etc. it is then sedimented by piles of mud and rocks over a period of time. My energy source is called OTEC, (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion). This a marine renewable energy technology that harnesses the solar energy absorbed by oceans to generate power.
In Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion there are three ways it can create energy. One is called and closed-cycle Otec. In this process warm seawater on the surface is pumped through a heat exchanger that vaporizes a fluid with a low boiling point. The vapor expands causing a turbo-generator to turn and producing energy. In an open-cycle, warm seawater is placed in a container at low-pressure, where it boils. The steam that expands drives a turbine attached to an electrical generator. The process where is boils and the ocean water turns to steam, its leaves behind its salt and other contaminants. The steam that is exposed to cold ocean water condenses it into fresh water for people to drink and irrigation. The last way it can produce energy is called Hybrid Otec. Warm seawater enters a vacuum chamber, where it’s flash-evaporated into steam. Heat from the steam vaporizes ammonia in a separate container, and this vaporized ammonia drives a turbine producing electricity.
